Catching the wonders of spring

Nothing like early spring woodland flowers. I went a little outside of Maine for this one, back to the family farm in Wisconsin

I spent many hours in our "woods" at all times of the year. I remember Marsh Marigolds from probably when I was 5 years old. They seemed to have disappeared for a while, but I was back for a last time before we sold the farm--my father passed away--and I took another walk in the woods and was delighted to see it filled with Marigolds, or we also called them Cowslips. And, the skunk cabbage stuck with that name and foul odor, but beautiful as it unfurls in the early spring.
